Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil exporter and a major force in global gold markets. The Kingdom's gold market is centred in Riyadh's Al-Dhahab district and Jeddah's Al-Balad historic market, where 21K jewellery dominates consumer purchases. Vision 2030 has driven significant reforms to the Kingdom's financial sector, including changes to gold VAT policy.
Fuel prices in Saudi Arabia are set by Saudi Aramco, the world's largest oil company. Despite recent reforms, Saudi Arabia still maintains some of the most affordable fuel prices globally as part of a managed pricing policy. Petrol grades include Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus 91, and Diesel.
The Saudi Riyal (SAR) is pegged to the US Dollar at a fixed rate of 3.75, maintained by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA). Like the AED, SAR/USD is fixed while other exchange rates fluctuate with global currency movements.
