Qatar is one of the world's wealthiest nations per capita, with a GDP per capita consistently among the top five globally. Fuel prices in Qatar are set by Woqod (Qatar Fuel Company), the state-owned fuel distributor. Qatar maintains some of the most stable and affordable fuel prices in the region, benefiting from its position as one of the world's largest natural gas exporters.

The Qatari Riyal (QAR) is pegged to the US Dollar at 3.64, maintained by the Qatar Central Bank. Qatar's rapid economic development, driven by LNG exports and World Cup infrastructure investment, has made it a key destination for expatriate workers from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Arab world.
