The UAE gold rate is updated three times daily — morning, afternoon, and evening — by the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG), which tracks global spot prices from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and converts them to AED. The Dubai rate is widely considered the most transparent and competitive in the GCC.

Purity grades traded in UAE: 24K (99.9% pure) is the investment standard for bars and coins; 22K (91.6%) is popular for Indian-style jewellery; 21K (87.5%) is favoured for Arabic and Italian designs; 18K (75%) is common in contemporary jewellery. The rate shown is the base price per gram — making charges are additional.

Important: gold bullion (bars and coins) is VAT-exempt in the UAE. Gold jewellery attracts 5% VAT as a finished product. When comparing prices between jewellers, always clarify whether the quoted rate includes VAT and making charges, which typically range from AED 3–15/gram depending on design complexity.
