Fuel prices in Oman are set by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and updated monthly. Oman partially reformed its fuel subsidy system in 2016, with prices now partially market-linked. A 5% VAT was introduced in 2021. The Omani Riyal (OMR) is pegged to the USD at 0.385 per USD (1 OMR ≈ 2.597 USD).
