UAE prayer times are sourced from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (AWQAF UAE), the official government body that determines and announces prayer times for all mosques across the seven emirates. Data is updated daily.

Why are prayer times different in Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

Prayer times differ across UAE cities because they depend on the position of the sun relative to each location. Cities at different longitudes see sunrise and sunset at slightly different times — Fujairah in the east sees sunrise a few minutes earlier than Ras Al Khaimah in the west. AWQAF maintains separate prayer schedules for all 60 UAE prayer areas.

What is Imsak and when does it appear?

Imsak (الإمساك) is the time approximately 10 minutes before Fajr prayer, marking the end of the Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) period during Ramadan. It only appears on DailyRates during the holy month of Ramadan. Outside Ramadan, only the five daily prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) are shown.

For UAE cities, times are sourced directly from AWQAF and are accurate to the minute — the same times announced at mosques. For other GCC countries where AWQAF data is unavailable, times are calculated using the AlAdhan API with country-appropriate methods. Minor variations of 1–3 minutes may occur compared to local mosque announcements.
