Prices shown are official rates and may vary slightly between petrol stations.
Kuwait's fuel prices are among the lowest in the world, set by KNPC (Kuwait National Petroleum Company), a subsidiary of the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). The government heavily subsidises fuel as part of its citizen welfare system — a tradition rooted in Kuwait's oil wealth that dates back to the 1950s.
Fuel grades available: Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus 91, and Diesel. Prices are in KWD per litre. Given KWD's high value, the per-litre price in KWD looks very low compared to other currencies, but it still reflects one of the most heavily subsidised fuel markets globally.
Kuwait's fuel subsidy programme has been a topic of economic reform discussions. While other GCC countries have moved toward market-linked pricing (UAE in 2015, Bahrain in 2018), Kuwait has been slower to reform its subsidy structure. Gradual reforms remain part of ongoing fiscal sustainability discussions under Kuwait's Vision 2035.
